Privacy Policy for Appicta (iOS)
Last updated: October 25, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the Appicta app for iPhone and iPad ("Appicta", "we", "us") handles your data. Appicta is an app for annotating PDF plans and documenting a site visit with photos, voice notes and text. It works entirely on your device.
Appicta does not collect, store or transmit any personal data to us or to any third party. We have no servers that receive your data, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.
2. What we collect
Nothing. In particular, we do not collect:
- names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers or other contact details
- account or sign-in information (there are no accounts)
- location data
- payment information (the app has no purchases)
- device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP addresses
- usage statistics, analytics or crash reports
In line with this, our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected", and the app does not track you (no App Tracking Transparency prompt is needed).
3. Data that stays on your device
To do its job, the app works with the following content, which is stored only in the app's private storage on your device:
- PDF plans (or images converted to a PDF) you import
- Photos you take with the camera
- Voice memos you record
- Text notes, markers, drawings and settings you create
We never receive this content. We cannot see it, access it or recover it for you.
4. Permissions
Appicta asks for the following iOS permissions. Each is optional and used only for the purpose shown; you can change them at any time in Settings > Appicta.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Camera | To take photos and attach them to markers on your plan. |
| Microphone | To record voice memos attached to markers. |
| Photo Library | To import images as the base of a plan and to choose an optional company logo for report title pages. The app does not use the photo library for marker photos; those are taken with the camera. |
Files you import (for example PDFs or images) are selected by you through the system file picker; the app only reads the files you choose.
5. No network access
The app does not connect to the internet to transmit your data. It does not use cloud sync, third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, social media integrations or crash-reporting tools.
6. Exporting and sharing
You can export an annotated PDF, a photo appendix or an HTML report and share it with the iOS share sheet (for example by e-mail, AirDrop, Messages or by saving to Files). What you export and who you send it to is entirely your choice. Once you share a file with another app or person, it is handled under that app's or recipient's own privacy practices, not under this policy.
7. Storage, backup and deletion
- The app's data lives in the app's private storage on your device.
- If you back up your device with iCloud or your computer, Apple may include the app's data in that backup according to your device settings. That backup is governed by your agreement with Apple, not by us.
- Deleting the app removes the app's data from your device. Files you exported or saved elsewhere (for example in Files or Photos) stay where you put them until you delete them.
- Inside the app you can delete individual photos, voice memos, markers and projects at any time.
8. Children
Appicta does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. It has no advertising, no in-app purchases, no accounts and no communication features. It is therefore consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
9. Third parties
The app does not integrate any third-party services that collect data. It uses open-source libraries for PDF rendering and the app's user interface, which run locally and do not transmit data.
10. International transfers
Because your data never leaves your device through the app, no international data transfers take place.
11. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar laws)
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete or port. You control the content in the app yourself. If you have any questions about your rights under the GDPR, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, the CCPA or other privacy laws, contact us at the address below. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
12. Changes to this policy
If the app's data handling changes, we will update this policy and the "last updated" date before the change takes effect in an app update. Changes do not apply retroactively to data already on your device.
